5 Reasons to Book a Cruise

Kathryn Freeman • September 3, 2024
Cruise holidays have experienced a huge surge in popularity over the last few years, with more people than ever choosing to spend time at sea. In fact, 31.7 million people enjoyed a cruise in 2023, an increase of 107% since 2019 and a number that's only expected to grow.
So what makes cruise holidays so popular? Here's our top 5 reasons to book a cruise.

Cruises are Great Value for Money
A cruise holiday offers exceptional value for money, quite simply because the price you pay includes almost everything you could possibly need from your holiday. Accommodation, food, transport, entertainment are all included.
You'll often find discounts or even free places for children and if you are a regular cruiser, you can take advantage of the savings you can make thanks to a cruise line's loyalty programme.
Luxury cruises offer even more bang for your buck, with drinks, gratuities, excursions and more included in the price and there are of course some fantastic budget cruise companies too.

Visit Multiple Destinations, Unpack Only Once
Imagine waking up in a new destination every morning of your holiday! Cruises are a great way to explore multiple destinations during one holiday and instead of lugging your case around from place to place, your floating hotel does all the hard work for you.
Why visit just one Caribbean island and not several? Perhaps you want to explore Europe but can't decide where to go first. That's the beauty of cruising, you don't have to limit yourself.

There's So Much to Do Onboard
One of the many myths about cruising is that you'll be bored. That is absolutely not the case. Cruise ships are like mini cities with a variety of activities and entertainment aplenty available throughout your cruise.
With waterparks, cinemas, libraries, art galleries, shops, pools, casinos, spas, sports courts, gyms, theatres, kids clubs, classes such as pottery, dance or wine tastings, West End style shows, celebrity performers and so much more, you simply couldn't find the time to be bored if you tried.

There's a Cruise for Everyone
Whether you're looking for a fun packed family cruise around the Med, an expedition cruise through Alaska's fjords and inlets or an adults only cruise. An all out Disney extravaganza at sea, a luxury cruise around the Arabian Gulf, island hopping around Greece or Croatia on a yacht or perhaps boarding a stunning clipper ship to feel the thrill of sailing as the wind whistles through the sails - you are guaranteed to find a cruise for you.
Equally, there are ships to suit everyone, whether you're looking for a small ship, yacht, clipper or you want to sail on the largest cruise ship on the world.

Unique Experiences
Cruising is an experience in itself, but there are so many things to see and do when you arrive in port where you can either opt to join a pre arranged excursion or go off on your own.
As with other aspects of cruise holidays, when it comes to excursions there is something to suit every taste. From exploring a city on foot to climbing Pulpit Rock in Norway to take in the breathtaking views of the Fjords or enjoying the day on the cruise line's very own private Caribbean island, there is such an amazing array of things to do when you do choose to leave the ship and explore.

There are of course many more reasons to book a cruise holiday. Why not head over to our Facebook page and let us know why you love cruising?

It's Mental Health Awareness Week, and we're talking about something that affects almost every one of us at some point: the overwhelming, exhausting, joy-sapping experience of trying to book a holiday online. You start with excitement. A blank search bar and a world of possibilities. But within twenty minutes you're drowning in comparison sites, contradictory reviews, hidden fees, and the creeping anxiety that whatever you choose, you've probably missed a better deal somewhere else. Sound familiar? You're not alone and it doesn't have to be this way.
